What is Yin Yoga?

Yin yoga is a gentle and introspective practice that involves holding passive poses for extended periods, typically ranging from one to five minutes. It targets the deep connective tissues, such as ligaments, fascia, and even bones, promoting flexibility and relaxation. Unlike more dynamic styles, yin focuses on stillness and surrender, encouraging practitioners to observe sensations and cultivate mindfulness. This is both the beauty and the challenge that is yin.

Do you have to be flexible to do Yin Yoga?

No definately not, you do not need to be flexible to do yin yoga! No headstands or contortions at our classes. In our view, flexibility or strength beyond your current level isn't a prerequisite for all yoga, including yin. The true essence lies in embracing the discomfort of stillness. Our teaching approach fosters exploration at your own pace, guiding you to your edge—the delicate balance between too much and not enough. In class, we acknowledge the strains of modern life, maintaining an authentic and supportive atmosphere.
